Tried to use CCC 2.3 to clone a 10.3.4 system from an IBM 120GB HD to a Maxtor 60GB HD, both as master on separate channels connected to a PCI ACARD 133 non-raid interface card. The resulting disk is unusable, and irrepairable with either Disk Utility or Disk Warrior. The drive works fine before trying the clone. Did the update to 10.3.4 change something in the HD drivers? I previously did he same thing, with 10.3.3 and had no problems.
Tried this twice, same results, tried it once with the target drive as a slave to an identical drive on the Sawtouth AGP G4 Tower'S internal ATA66, same result. Any help appreciated.

Some elementary questions to pose could be these: Did you erase the target drive before cloning? Is the preference for making the clone bootable still selected (if the source drive contains OS X, of course)? In this case, have you repaired permissions on the source drive before cloning? Etc.

You could try to find some answers on the Bombich Forums, anyway...

Yes, the preferences on the source drive were repaired pior to the cloning operation and yes, the option to make the target bootable was active. The target drive was erased, zero'd out actually. Thanks for the suggestion about the forums. Will post there shortly. Have since installed OS 10.3.4 on said drive with no problems, looks like a CCC glitch somehow.

May have something to do with the PCI card...After upgrading to 10.3.4, I CCCloned (v2.3) from an internal 120GB Western Digital HD to an external Firewire (Seagate 160GB) HD and it worked perfectly.

Try using the Software Restore tab in Disk Utility instead of Carbon Copy Cloner. It may work where CCC fails.
