Hi - just received my copy of office 2004 - made a simple document containing a 14kb gif and saved it to disc.

Guess what - it wrote a 50 MEG .doc to my disk - does anyone know why Word would do this ?!?!?

thx for any hints....

Happened on a PC at work. One page text doc = 1.8MB. Did the select all and paste into a new document routine, now 37KB.
