Well the time has come where I have to have PC software for going back to School this fall. I do not want to buy a PC so I was looking into this Virtual PC. For those of you that use Virtual PC, what are you thoughts on the product. Is it easy to load and use PC software with the Virtual PC. I have Bible Software that is not processor intensive. The software requires a 700Mhz PC machine. My iMac is a 800MHZ with 1Gig of RAM. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Having PC software that requires 700 Mhz I'd say is too much. An emulated system has about a third of the "host" capabilities (I think...), so your 800 Mhz iMac would equal about a 266 Mhz PC... But you can always try and see if it's usable.

Isn't the G4 a smarter processor than a Pentium ?

G4 is faster then a pentium, not smarter. But PCs are upto P4s and they smoke G4s.

That isn't actually the correct way to say that . . . . In my opinion, the G4 is more capable, but many Pentium systems are more powerful than many mac systems (and vice-versa).

Anyway, unless your Bible software comes with movies and all kinds of multimedia then it should be fine. By the way, my general rule of thumb in these cases is to choose a less capable native program over running emulation. You could get a nice Mac Bible program for the cost of VPC alone.

But, if you must use this exact program, I would give it a try (if you already have access to VPC use 6 - don't even think about 5).
