This might be a known bug but I experienced it for the first time last night and I'm curious if anyone has any info...

While organizing photos in the PS File Browser, I used the Batch Rename feature to name all the photos (around 50 images) with the nameing convention: Name1, Name2, Name3, etc. After the photos were renamed, over half of them disappeared... right out of the File Browser.

I closed PS and opened the folder where the images were located. All of the images were there but over half were listed as documents (previously JPEGs) and none of these would open. When I tried to open them in PS, an error popped up stating 'This is an incorrect file and cannot be opened' (or something along that line).

Just to be sure, I deleted the folder and brought a copy of the images from a backup disk to the desktop. I repeated the process exactly with the new images and the same thing happened!

Is the File Browser corrupting the images? Has anyone else experienced this?

thanks in advance,
Demian

I've never tried to Batch Rename in PS, but you can try R-Name if PS is constantly messing up your files. R-Name has always worked quickly and successfully for me.
