Is there any way to get past this new large library limit in the network sharing of iTunes? I'm a bit irked, as that was what I envisioned Apple's digital hub concept to be: You rip all your CDs onto your G4/5 tower, and then from somewhere else in your house you use your laptop to play the songs...

Anyway, how "large" is too large? Obviously my 80Gb (yes, almost all are purchased or ripped from my own CDs) is too large, as when wish to share my library it simply tries to find it forever.

One thing I tried that did work was to connect to the "Hub" with no, or very small playlists shared in the preferences and then go back to the Hub computer and change it to "share entire library." And because, once it was connected, it could see all the songs, it is obviously not a protocol problem, rather another silly DRM piece of trash.

Any help or information around here? I haven't seen all that much mention around here. I suppose i really am in the minority with that many songs being shared...

DRM has nothing to do with it. When sharing you can see all files, regardless of whether or not they are protected. The only time DRM comes into it is when you try to play a protected file. It sounds like you're just bumping up against an intrinsic limit of iTunes. Send feedback to Apple if you want it fixed.

It's a known problem:

Sounds like it's a bug really.
