Backing up SACDs?

I know there are many topics about copying DVDs, but I'm not sure if the same applies to SACDs, since the computer doesn't properly recognize them.

I have the hybrid SACD of Peter Gabriel's "Up". The CD layer plays fine on my computer, as expected.

1) I know many old threads here mention that computers can't play SACDs - is that still the case?

2) Is there any way to make a backup copy of the actual SACD layer of the CD, even though the computer can't play it?

Thanks!

I'm rather sure that computers still can't play SACDs or copy them properly.
