The other day I restet Safari in the Safari Menu and now I'm having problems with Secure websites.

I went into "My Account" at Amazon.com and I got an error message in Safari that said:

"The certificate for this website has expired or is not yet valid. You might be connecting to a website that is pretending to be “www.amazon.com” which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the website anyway?"

It has ( Cancel ) and ( Continue ).

I can click continue and it still connects to the site, but NONE of the images will load. All of the images come out as [ ? ] icons.

I'm pretty sure everything still works but, why don't the images load and why did I get that dialog. It's very hard to tell what button I am clicking on a secure site if I can't see it. (I ordered tickets yesterday and almost everythings used graphics).

Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

Is this only an issue with Amazon.com for you? Or other sites?

Umm.... no... could that be the problem?

I set my date back to 2003 because the demo version of iDrum expired and I wanted more time... I just did THAT the other day too... Lemme try and turn the date back to see if that works. Thanks.

Okay... that seems to work... I feel like an idiot now. Thanks again.

That wouldn't mess up my ticket purchase or anything would it? I hope not.

I don't think it will mess up anything you have already done...did you get your confirmation and everything from Amazon? If so, you are okay I'm sure.

Glad I could help you out...

How did you figure that out? How would that mess up Safari?

I'm gorickey.®

Certificates expire after "X" amount of time...so I've seen from past experience that a time/date change can cause these sort of errors...

Indeed, they have a defined time period for which they are valid, both a start and an end. If you go back in time to before the start date, the certificate is no longer (not yet?) valid and you get errors saying they couldn't validate the authenticity.
