Is there a way to save a web page to a CD that I can send to my in-laws who only have dial-up and want to see what my page looks like?
Thanks

You probably have a few options... Is it only one page? If so you can simply save it as a PDF by going to "Print..." (Command-P) and choosing "Save as PDF".

If it's a series of pages... i.e. a full website, you can try saving the site as a web archive using Internet Explorer... it's an option in the save as panel. Your in-laws will need to have Explorer though, and I'm not exactly sure what the compatibility rate is with Explorer's web archives.

Your third option... you mentioned that it's your website? In that case, can you simply save the page itself with all the html files, images etc... into a folder and burn it onto CD and have them open that in their browser?

Their might be some other ways, but that's all I can think of now

and of course you could always just send them all the files that make up the website and put in purely local/relative links.

That said though, what kind of web page is so complex that it can't be viewed over dial up? (yes the web is slower, but for the most part, the difference comes in downloading multimedia files, application updates, etc., no?)

Sorry, forgot to mention, it is a .mac web page.
I tried coping the files and folders to my harddrive, but that didn't work. Is there a program that will do this? I will try the IE web archive.
Thanks

Unless you're talking about movies or big pictures, why can't they access it with their dial up?

They are in Northern Minnesota, and their Internet is REALLY slow, probably because they have old wiring in the house and also that they are so far from the city that houses their ISP. It can take them over an hour to download 2-3 pictures I send them. Just thought this would be easier.

This is the one thing that MS Internet Explorer is good for on the mac.

There's a "Save Webpage" function or something similar, with a configurable link depth. It will save all files related to the page in question, and make an offline viewing package. Super cool. :-D

I've done this a few times for presentations where I wasn't 100% sure I would have a nice working internet connection.

The program I use is DeepVacuum

You can use it to download enormous sites.
