I downloaded a wmv file and now the player won't launch. It just sits there bouncing in the dock until it stops and say "application not respoding".

My troublshooting steps so far..

Removed media player from the application folder
Removed windows media player folder and drm plugin bundle from library/internet plug-Ins
emptied trash
downloaded player from M$ web site
removed all wmv files
rebooted
installed player
no errors on install
still won't open

I am at a lost and any help would be much appreciated

specs:
OS X 10.2.8
Dual 1 GHZ Powermac

I am having the same exact problem. Have you been able to fix this, or does anyone have any ideas? I also followed the same steps as you. My icon also just bounces, and it never opens. Just says application not responding after a bit of bouncing.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Nevermind. I fixed it. I found some info. on the MS newsgroup for Media Player. I deleted the .plist and pref file for Media Player, and it works now.
