I noticed that all the GUI widgets like the buttons, form fields, dropdowns, checkboxes and radio buttons are all windows like. It doesnt use any of the AQUA widgets. Is there any way to change them to the Aqua ones?

Aqua widgets will be in Firefox post 1.0

However, bear in mind Aqua widgets mean that web interfaces don't appear as they were intended.

The author of the Firefox theme says he will rerelease the older version as a separate theme that you can install yourself. It will not be the default, though. This should happen in the next few weeks.

Edit: In case you were wondering, no, I didn't read the original post very well. I'm just talking about the theme, not Aqua widgets.

Aqua widgets for styled forms suck, I wanna see how developers styled them, even scrollbars... Opera does all that, and Moz/Fx do the widgets.

I don't understand this. How are web interfaces "intended" to appear? Is there some standard somewhere?

If they were styled the wouldn't look like windows. You can change the look, flat, or no. Even change the colors, etc.

Those boring looking Windows like form buttons/widgets allow CSS styles to be applied to the buttons themselves.

Play around with the menus on the left hand side at this site, in Firefox and then Safari, and tell me what you notice

If Firefox get's "Aqua" widgets then there probably won't be much reason to use Camino. Personally, I prefer Firefox's tab implementation over Camino's. If only it would hook into the system wide spell checking in OS X ...

I notice that it is no longer obvious that "subscribe" and "search" are buttons, and that the pop-up menus on the left are not as easy to notice.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Now I understand. However, I'm still not convinced that one is "right" and one is "wrong"... Either way, certainly not a show stopper, is it?

What is needed is an Aqua widget that can acquire colour hints and shapes from CSS.

The Firefox widgets aren't pretty I admit, but they do allow more control over a website's appearance. My webmail portal looks quite good with the styles applied to buttons.
