Ok here's the deal. I'm trying to share iPhoto 4 libraries via Rendezvous ... but I'm not trying to do it between computers on the network ... instead, I'm trying to share them between users on my iMac. "Look for shared photos" and "Share my photos" has been enabled in each user's iPhoto preferences, no password required. Fast User Switching is enabled, so I login to each user's account and fire up iPhoto. The problem is that this "works", but it's just hella unstable!
User B can see User A's photos in the source column. But the connection lasts a few minutes only and then it just dies. I then have to login as User A and turn the "Share my photos" preference off and back on. Then I login as User B again and the shared photos show up again. Unfortunately, the connection just won't "stick". Even stranger, it doesn't seem like it can tell the difference between the actual iPhoto library and shared photos when two accounts on the same machine share photos with each other. For instance, when logged in as User A, I clicked on User B's photos and it showed the library of User A. Same thing vice versa. I had to click back and forth between the iPhoto Library and the shared photos to get the latter to realize that it should only be showing the photos that are actually in the library of the other user. Bottom line, it just doesn't seem to work that well.
Anyone able to get rendezvous sharing to work between user accounts on the same machine?
