I installed a new hard drive in my TiPB, put the old drive in an external firewire housing, and everything is working fine, except when i try to clone the old drive to the new one, Carbon Copy Cloner doesn't give me the option to have the new drive as the target drive.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The "new" drive needs to be formatted correctly I'm assuming...try formatting the drive using "Disk Utility" as an Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) drived and see how it goes...

The drive is already formatted. I had to do that before I was able to install OSX. In fact, everything sees the drive EXCEPT CCC.

Can anyone recommend any other programs that would do the same thing?

Thanks.

You aren't trying to clone to the new drive while booted from it, are you? You can't use CCC to clone to the startup disk. Boot from the old drive instead.

How do I boot from the old drive - the one in the external firewire housing?

Thanks.

Make sure the FW drive is running/connected...then:

System Preferences > Startup Disk > (Select your FW drive) > Restart
