I've made some backup copies of my DVD's and they all seem to play fine for about 2/3 - 3/4 through. Then the DVD player doesn't seem able to read the disc anymore and just quits. This has happened on a Sony DVD player and a Bose player. It has happened on every disc that I copied. (I guess I should have watched one all the way through before making backups of other discs, but I thought that if the first 5 minutes played, then the rest of the disc would be fine).

I've been using DVD Backup, DVD2OneX and Toast to make my backups. Does this happen to anyone else? Are there additional settings in any of the programs that I should check? I can't seem to figure it out.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

What brand of discs are you using? Can you play your DVDs on your Mac? Can you at least play the VIDEO_TS folders made by DVD2oneX using DVD Player?

I am using kHypermedia 1X DVD-R's. The video_ts works on the computer. Could it be the brand of DVD's I use? What is the best brand? I only got these because they were cheap (I guess you get what you pay for).

Thanks!

Checking SupahCool's website (pretty nice actually, thanks for the link), it seems the kHypermedia is under 4th Class Media, 0-50% success rate. It seems like got burned When it comes to disc media, you usually don't want to go cheap.
