Anyone to duplicate this problem?
The site:
http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/search-bool.html
Browsers used:
Mozilla 1.8a, Camino 0.8b+, Safari 1.2.2, Firefox 0.9.
This URL does not load under Mac OS X, but loads just fine under a Windows PC, on the same network. Loads fine under Virtual PC, too. Changing the user-agent did not work under OS X...

Yes, with Camino (and Mozilla and Firefox), I get a blank screen and no error text. With Safari, immediately after pressing ENTER, I get an error message ("can't load yada yada").
Seems you were able to load the page under Safari. Cool.
But how?
Thanks for the fast reply, btw!

Thank you all. Seems it is just me, then.
What do you guys suggest? (I am "trigger happy", wouldn't mind reinstalling the OS, though I have a lot of work to do tonight...sigh)
Any suggestions as to what's going wrong?
TIA.
PS. Whoa! www.adobe.com is not loading, too.

Have you tried the usual routine of renaming your Preferences folder and seeing if that fixes it? Because then you'd know it's a user preference and not something that wants a reinstall.

No but I've tried logging in as a different user. Still no go.
Then lit up a cigarette, grabbed today's newspaper, and reinstalled OS X.
There's nothing a clean install won't cure (well, almost nothing).
Thanks for all the feedback. I am still a bit puzzled, but at least I have my search URL.
Update: Found the culprit...PeerVanguard. Not puzzled anymore.
