is there a way to use gmail with the trusty old mail.app? mail pulls down 3 accounts for me already, and i'd like to add gmail if i can. i have tried but cant seem to get it straight.

anyone done it?

It's not possible, yet. It will be when one of the following happens:

1) Google allows for IMAP or POP access to e-mail
2) Someone writes a hack (someone already did this with Hotmail, so if (1) doesn't happen, someone is bound to try and do this)

Not possible yet; however, it's a feature promised to come in the future from Google...
