iDVD doesn't work with G5s ??

I can't burn DVDs either for iMovie or for iphoto slideshows with my dual 1.8.
I've read the post started on 06/02 by Jansar. My question is am I misreading the post or is there a recognized problem that Apple hasn't resolved?
How is it possible that there is no fix for this situation?

Any printable suggestions?

Yes, for both iMovie and iPhoto projects, but nothing has worked yet.
When I transfer the projects to a G4 iMac each burns. Very frustrating.
