I have a problem with Mozilla 1.7 and Firefox 0.9. After using it for a while, and closing all windows, I want to open a new window, and suddenly the bookmarks are all gone (left sidebar and top toolbar), and it's not possible to open websites anymore. I can type in a url, but nothing happens after hitting the enter-key.

The only thing to solve it is to close the browser app and restart. It's quite annoying and I'm wondering whether I'm the only one with this problem. I had it with Firefox 0.8 already. I removed all Firefox and Mozilla files, including the library/phoenix files, the application itself etc. I reinstalled several times, redownloaded etc.

I suspect this is a problem with my system, but I hate to reinstall everthing. For the rest I love firefox and prefer it as my standard browser, especially because it supports xml and xsl.

Does anyone have the same problem? Any solutions?

Are you sure you got rid of all the profile files? They've been in a number of places. Make sure there's no ~/Library/Phoenix, ~/Library/Firebird, ~/Library/Firefox, etc. The only place Firefox 0.9 looks for settings is ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox.
