I'm not sure this is the right forum. I want to convert a bunch of cassettes (a long book on tape) into mp3 so I can listen with my mini. I know, from searching, that I can use Toast 6, which I already have (spin doctor, actually) for the software part.

I terms of connection, though, all I can find is references to a cable, b ut not a specific cable. Any help out there, anyone?

thanks in advance.

all you really need is a patch cable(regular audio cable but with 2 headphone jack style plugs in each end) from the headphone port of your cassette player to the audio-in port on your mac and then an audio recorder... i just use "Audio Recorder" found on versiontracker, works decent enough for my needs...

hope that helps some
i'm too lazy to come up with a sig

Good luck,

You dont need iMic if your computer has a line in.

I checked every cord in our house and I would have had to get a special one to fit in the "line in." The imic will have other uses, so I opted for that instead of a cable (which I fully admit I could have gotten for less)!

better to use the direct line-in built into your computer rather than use an extra device through USB.
