So does iChat in Tiger support Jabber?

It does say it's Jabber compatible. Now give me ICQ and MSN with PGP integration and I'll give up Fire.
OS X: Where software installation doesn't require wizards with shields.

I have a feeling it's only for connecting to Tiger Server.

Yes, the ichat in Tiger does include jabber support.
