hey all, i'm trying to find a piece of software that will time the use of certain applications. I.e.- Record how long I use Safari every day, or iPhoto every day, etc...

I found iWork, but it doesn't seem to time such things, unless I would start/stop the timer every time i used an application, in which case I might as well just use a stopwatch.

Ideally what I'm looking for is something that I can run that will log how long each application is in use for each day, or something along those lines.

Does anyone know of any such software? TIA

A quick search at www.versiontracker.com found AppTracker. It's $25 and pretty old, though, so I don't know how well it works. It purports to do exactly what you want, though.

You could always do it the hard way. Create a file and type in when you open and close an application and keep track that way. There's even some timer Widgets available for Konfabulator (and likely timers/stopwatches apps at VT or macupdate.com.

i'll take a look at it, thanks. it says it does that for documents, i'm more interested in specific applications, but this piece of software may be able to do that......
