I'm trying to help a friend who is just now moving from OS ( to OS X. One of the documents, I'm moving over for her is a spreadsheet, set up for avery labels that she uses to send out holiday notes. problem is, when I open the document in the new version of AppleWorks, it locks up when we try to chanhe the latout view.

I have to close the document, without saving. How can I get this document to work properly?

AppleWorks 6 should offer to convert old v5 (and older) files when you open them - once they are open, they have been converted, and if you save the file v5 will be appended to the end of the filename.

I don't understand why it would lock up. Is this for every v5 file, or just one specific file?

Yup it does everything it supposed to for the conversion, but when you they to change the layout view all the data disappears and you can't do anything.
