Hi

I am considering purchasing the new version of iDVD to use with a Formac DVDRW +/- drive. Unfortunately, my G3 ibook didnt come with idvd instealled, as it doesnt have a dvd drive.

Would my G3 be suitable to run iDVD and burn dvds using an external burner, like the white formac one?

I'm not sure, but I don't think the new versions of iDVD work with external burners, but I could be wrong. Have you tried checking Apple's site?

There was a hack that someone found a few months ago that would allow iDVD to burn to external drives. Do a search and you should be able to find it.

That said, iDVD requires a 733mhz G4. I'm sure you could get away with a little less, but a G3 would probably be pushing it a bit.
