OK, I'm looking into software to synchronize certain files on my laptop and desktop. I think I have it narrowed down, but now I have a really dumb question. The one I'm looking at, Softtobe's FoldersSynchronizer, can be purchased for use on one computer only or for a whole site.

Now I anticipate backing up the laptop to an external, upon occasion, and the main syncing between desktop and laptop. So -- can I get by with just buying a single use? That seems to make sense to me. Unfortunately, the price goes from $40 to $400, or something like that. It's not like I'm networking 22 computers or anything, just a desktop and a laptop.

Thanks for any insight.

you would think that if the point of the software is to sync folders between computers, that a single license would be what you need for what your intent is, but you never know for sure unless you read all the detail in the agreement itself.

why not send the question to the developer/company and ask them to clarify the license with what your use is going to be?
