I did a search but didn't find anything relevant... Is there any way to send a message to an offline user with iChat? I have some friends who use aim and are online, but keep their status as offline. They'll be sending me messages, but I can't reply to them. Any way around that?

I've run into this problem too, it is possible to talk to them, it's just not easy
you can choose the "new chat with person..." menu item, type in their screen name, and it will send one message before that window becomes useless.

hopefully we there will be a better way at some point.
