I've tried three times (with different brand discs) to make a simple DVD with iDVD - and each time I get read errors (ie: "No disc found") in TWO dvd players and a ps2. What's wrong???
The DVD is an 8 minute movie made in iMovie. I used iMovie's iDVD button to bring the project into iDVD, and then I burn it. It goes through the process and reports no problems - but it never works!!!
Please help!!!!!! This is a family video for our family reunion on Saturday!

assuming you live in north america, make sure you burn using the NTSC video standard and not the PAL standard. i used to have the same problem until i realized i had the wrong standard selected. to change, go to Preferences-->General. that might be the source of your problem. hope that helps.

Does the DVD play in the Mac you made it on?
NTSC / PAL setting makes no difference.
That only defines the content of the disc, most DVD players play NTSC and PAL discs no problem, it's not like region codes.

true. it was probably causing me a problem because my dvd player is really old. so, antizero, if you have a relatively new dvd player, then the video standard setting won't matter.
