OK, I'm running 10.2.8 on a TiBook, 1GHz, Superdrive (the last of the Titaniums). Got crappy ol' Windows Media Player 9 with it's herky-jerky, pixellated, flaky playback.
I just visited some sites (IGN, Gamespot) where I typically have to endure WiMP in order to get even a glimpse of video games I'm interested in. And guess what? The picture and sound are much better. What's the deal?
I changed nothing on my end. Is it better encoding (whatever that entails) on the sites' end? I'm on a DSL wireless connection 11o'clock at night. I've watched crappy WiMP files before in this location/time and had the usual ugly-ass playback, so I'm not sure if the variables are different at all on my end.
Mind you, it's still not stellar. But remarkably improved given its past performance. Just curious if anybody's noticed better quality with their WiMPs...
