Win 95 SE came with my Beige G3 (no joke for real and from Apple none the less) and I tried upgrading my VP2 image and it wouldn't work. So I want to install Windows 95 SE from scratch in VPC 6 which I bought the upgrade version of (for my G4 ) so how do I go about doing it from scratch? It won't capture the CD or a disk image I made.

Suggestions please. I need this so I can play RollerCoaster Tycoon

Well this doesn't sound quite right. Are you using the little CD button down in the lower left of the VPC window to control CD or CD image capture?

You need to get that working before you can think about installing an OS. Try to capture other CD's or images. If that doesn't work, maybe the app is corrupt. Try deleting the preferences for VPC, and reinstall the app.

Once you get that working, you need to run the Win95 installer. If your Win95 CD-ROM isn't bootable, you'll have to find someone with a Windows boot floppy (with CD-ROM drivers) and make an image of that (and then boot off that).

After that, it's install as normal. Be sure to install the VPC additions so you can have copy/paste, etc between the Mac and Windows environments.

Thanks

It's not bootable. I got VPC2 with Windows95 in 1998 when I got my Beige G3.

Got a boot disk for 98 (same site I think) got Windows 95 to install and on reboot got that damm Protection error again. Which is what I got when I updated the VPC2 Win95 image.

Back to square one.

as for XP $400 CDN No thanks (and that's with VPC 6.1 cheaper then the $450 asking price alone).
