How to backup my drive?

Well, I finally got myself a LaCie 200 GB external Hard Drive, and I was wondering how I should go about backing my old one up. I would like the ability to image my internal powerbook drive, and then store it on the external HDD. I would also like the ability to make incremental backups to that image, so if, say, I change a file, the image would be updated (I would like to do that weekly).

From what I can tell, CCC does not offer the ability to back up incrementally to an image. I would also like to know, if I create a CCC image, how do I restore it?

Can someone suggest some applications, or methods of doing this that would ensure my data protection.

Also, if I were to use CCC to actually clone the drive, does it have to be a 1:1 clone? Meaning, can I have extra files on the external HDD that are not on the internal powerbook drive?

Why not use Lacie's own free SilverKeeper software? It does easy backups/restores. Also, with the newer versions, you can have a special folder set aside that won't be touched during backups.
Also, you could partition the external drive. Make one partition the size of your computer's HD and use it for backups. Then, use the remaining space on the other partition for permanent data storage.

I was told that it is very unstable.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Okay, so which should I use Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper?

Super Duper is what I am now using. I was a Tri-Backup user but I find Super Duper easier to understand and faster to use.
