Hi guys,
I'm new to the Mac community. My subject may have been talked thousand of times, but I'll try anyway, thanks in advance to the people who will reply to it.
What is your favourite softwares for Internet browsing, emails and soft to keep your contacts?
Safari, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera... for the web browsers?
I have Microsoft Exchange also...
I'm a little bit lost in this new world and would like your opinions

welcome to the mac community!
As you said, there are thousands of threads on these topics, but in brief:
email: Mail or Entourage - there are other options, but these are by far the most popular. If you don't have MS Office, then I wouldn't buy it just for Entourage.
browser: Here you've got a lot of options. Most people keep a couple of these around just in case a certain website doesn't work properly in 1 of them. Options include:
• Safari (small, fast, w/ KHTML "webcore" engine)
• Camino (small fast, cocoa front end for gecko engine)
• Firefox (gecko engine + extensibiliity)
• Mozilla (all the goodies that come along with this beast)
• OmniWeb (my personal favorite - uses webcore, has incredible features like per-site preferences, workspaces, &c.)
• Opera (really don't know much about this browser - never had much interest)
• IE (for when you find that site that just won't work in anything else)
If you want more information on any of these - just do a quick search. Or better yet, download a copy and try them out - see which works best for you.
contact info: the real solution here is to just go with Apple's Address Book - it integrates nicely with iCal, iSync, Mail, &c. and unless you need a specific feature that it doesn't provide (and no plugin provides) it's pretty good. Plus your info can be exported easily in vCard format for easy importing into other contact apps if you need to...

"Internet" is not the same thing as web browsing.

Hmm well for internet/browsing I like, Omniweb 5 and Opera 7.53. As for other internet apps, I use AIM and iChat.
For email I use Mail.app which comes with OSX.

If you had to make a choice between these two as your personnal favorite, which one woud win?
Firefox vs. Mozilla
Mail.app vs. Thunderbird
Since I have Office 2004, is Entourage better than these last two?
Thanks

I use Safari for my main surfing, and FireFox as a secondary.
For email, my primary is Entourage (I hated Outlook Express in 2001 and prior); however, I use Nisus Email for some tasks: 1) I can write in any app, then drag, drop, and send the email with one movement; 2) for my filtering email after I sort through them in NE, I can either delete them on the server or leave them and pick them up with Entourage. Works well for me. But I am not overwhelmed by email.

Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.
