Hey all
Am about to get a new Dual 1.8 G5 next week. Have opted for the deal of getting FC Ex2 for only £70.00
Having used iMovie 4 for a while now, is FC Ex gonna be much better for doin home dv movies? [not the bedroom sort ]
As it only cost £70 am tempted to flog on ebay for a profit, but won't if anyone can give me a good reason to use it over iMovie.
Cheers
Chris

I think you will be pleased with FCE. Just purchased it myself. Still getting auainted with it.
It is quite different than iMovie.
I also purchased Final Cut Express Editing Workshop by Tom Wolsky. It has helped me. There are many other titles available as well.
It is far more feature laden than iMovie and it is non-destructive as well.
It was a good purchase for me, hopefully you will find it the same.
Congrats on the G5 and the good deal on the software.

FCE blows iMovie out of the water. Perfect for someone who wants more then iMovie but not have the deep pockets (or need) for everything FCP has to offer.

If you want to do more than edit your kids birthday party once a year, then I'd got for FCE. It really isn't even in the same league as iMovie.

I got FCE 1.01 from the upgrade offer last year if you turned in any old Adobe Premiere disc. Is the upgrade to 2.0 worth the time and effort (and cash?).
Cheers.

It is way more optimized for the G5 and for dual processors, if you have either of those, the answer is yes.
If not, read the specs and decide.
