How can I increase cache size in safari?

I am looking to get Safari to store more cache then it is set up by default to store. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Better to just deactivate the cache entirely. Safari Enhancer will allow you to do this.

Why would I do this, and what is Enhancer? Sorry, but this is new to me. Could I possibly have more detail? Although, I'm really looking to INCREASE the size.

Safari Enhancer lets you deactivate it. Basically it is the same as setting it to infinity. By deactivating, you force Safari to load pages new everytime, rather than a stopgap measure of just expanding the cache.

What do you mean you want to accomplish the opposite? What exactly are you looking for then? And I don't mean just expanding the cache. For what purpose?

What makes you think there is a limit now on the size of the cache? The Safari cache on my laptop right now is occupying 21MB of disk space.
If you want to specify a really large cache, you could always set up a local Squid proxy and cache everything.

I honestly don't know if there is or not. However, it's a question I'm supposed to answer for somebody. Is there a definitive answer on this? Is there no way to do it?

I don't think Safari has a hard and fast limit as to cache size...
if you are running out of room, put Safari on a separate 160gig drive. That should hold you over for a while

The executable location has nothing to do with the cache location. The Safari cache is in ~/Library/Caches/Safari

i actually need this too. I'm working on a site that uses flash, and has a part that loads a somewhat large SWF movie file. It's about 3.3MB, but Safari is loading the file everytime, and not caching it.
Firefox caches it fine.

I don't believe changing Safari's cache size will change this behavior at all. (I don't think size is the reason it's not caching it).
