Okay... the forums were wacky earlier... ended up with a blank double post... hopefully the servers back up and running correctly...

When my mother has her isight plugged in, but I do not have mine plugged in, we cannot enter into a one way video chat, but when I have my camera plugged in and she does not, we can enter into a one way video chat.

The camera icon by her name is not there when I don't have my camera plugged in. As soon as I plug it in, the icon comes back and we can 2 way video chat. We have tried deleting the prefs, but that has no effect.

My mother has an emac and I have a powerbook (which is why I don't always have my cam with me).

Any ideas?

The camera icon not being in your buddy list while you have no cam plugged in, is normal. I'd not say it's correct, but this is just what iChat does. So to enter into 1 way video chats, you have to do it from the menu's, which is probably what you had been doing already.
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

Thanks for the reply. The menu option is grayed out for some reason. Guess I just assumed that there had been a camera picture before once the problem started.
