So Ive done a search and lot of people seem to have problems with this. I had an install of windows 98, but I think it has become corrupted or something because it boots up, says it has a problem, and then VPC crashes. I thought it would be a good time to upgrade to 2000. I could not get it to boot off the damn windows 2000 CD, but eventually I tried starting up my old working 98 install and it booted off the CD. However, now Im greeted with a splash screen saying I need to insert windows 2000 disk #2 into drive a:. Isnt that a floppy? I just have the one CD...HELP

just put the w2k disc in the machine, let it mount, and then start a new VPC session. it should just work.

So I figured out how to navigate into makeboot, make virtual floppy disks in VPC, create the boot disks, run off of those, and now Im installing win2k. That seemed unecessarily complicated...

So after installing about 80 critical updates, Windows 2000 is up and running. I must say, it is TONS faster then win 98 SE was for me. The only reason I use VPC is to play Party Poker, and now it plays just as fast as it does on a PC. I'm quite impressed.

You went through all of this and downloaded and installed 80 critical software updates, just to play Party Poker?! Hmmm... guess I should have a look at this then, it must be quite extraordinarily good, and addictive

Hah, well I play with real money, and I am currently up around $700, so the extra speed is worth it to me I've started playing higher stakes games so I can get up to 2,000 faster and get that 23 inch cinema display. If you know what you are doing, there is a lot of money to be made in online poker.
