Hey
Back in the day when my sister had a windows laptop (she just traded it in for a shiny new 12" iBook). I could use my iSight with her laptop and with MSN 6.2 I could web cam with my gf. It would run at about 10 fps. Which was pretty cool.

However
with iChat 2.1 AV and AOL IM 5.5
We tried to do web cam conversation again and it ran at about 1 fps and audio kept dropping out. It then stopped working after about 5 minutes. The video was so boxy and the colors weren't right. Why is iChat and AOL IM run so so bad. She has 128/128 adsl and i have 512/128 adsl. It should be able to run. Is there a way to make it work?

She can do a webcam broadcast and i can talk to her back over aduio (built in microphone) with Virtual PC 6.0.1. It ran alright, almost as good as it was on my sisters old laptop.
However the iSight doesn't work with Virtual PC. Will a USB web cam work with Virtual PC?

My guess would be that 128 just isn't enough for two-way video conferencing - that's only twice as fast as an analog modem...

Yeah but the irritating thing is that it works fine in MSN.
