When I'm opening one web page or downloading a file, its like have no bandwidth to open another page.

For I was just downloading the update to os 10.3.5, and yahoo, macnn, etc none would load. i would get that error from safari where it just pops up and down and notifies me that it couldn't connect.

i don't recall ever having this problem before and the wierd thing is i'm on a really fast connection, so its not like it's a bandwidth issue. it bugs because i can't browse the web while downloading files.

can anyone help me? thanks!

Have you repaired permissions?

Are you on AirPort or connected directly? Do you have another browser to see if it's just Safari? Have you contacted your cable company and checked that it's not something on their end, an upgrade or system disruption? Have you tried restarting the computer since repairing permissions?

I was connected via cat 5 cable, not airport. and since i was at the library sppeds are blazingly fast. and what bugs is before it was fine, but now its lik its designated to only load one thing at a time.

and i tried, firefox, mozilla, opera, and safari. no dice.

i know it seems strange thats why a lot of people haven't posted back, but it sure bugs. i'm almost considering re installing the os, although the compuyter is maybe 2 months old and i did do a fresh install when i got it.

either way a while back it was fine and now it's not. i don't know what else.

I'm having the same type problem. I can't load the sites for Buffalo Tech or gmail. I've tried from my Quicksilver using 10.3.4 wirelessly and my brand new just out of the box Powerbook connected via ethernet. I too have tried several different browsers. I've tried each of these sites using a PC and I am able to connect to the sites.

Have you cleared out Safari's cache (under the Safari menu). It probably wouldn't hurt to clean out all of the various caches with Panther Cache Cleaner, Onyx or Cocktail. Additionally, to regain some real estate on your HD run DeLocalizer to remove the unneeded language modules. I saved 900+MB the first time I ran it. It will run under 10.3.

Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.
