I currently have a physical copy of 4.01 (original CD). I downloaded the 4.02 updater and did the following:
1. Inserted original TTP CD
2. Opened Disk Utility
3. Highlighted TechTool Pro 4 CD
4. Selected Images > New > Image From TechTool Pro 4 CD
5. Named my file, saved as DVD/CD Master.
6. Mounted the image.
7. Dragged over copy of updater.
8. Ran updater (not from the mounted image).
9. Updated copy of TTP in the image (mounted) and restarted the computer.
10. Burned the image using Disk Utility.
The CD shows up...all of the contents are there. When I attempt to start up from the CD, it will spend several minutes on the gray Apple/rotating sundial screen and then will suddenly reboot itself. This is on a 15" Al PB. I've read that others were successful in creating the bootable CD as I just described, but I'm having no luck.
Micromat help has been less than helpful. Anyone out there who was successful can tell me what I have been doing wrong? I already have 3 coasters now and on the brink of giving up.
EDrive is NOT an option!
