iSync update woes - HELP

Every time I try to update iSync, whether it be via software update or a downloaded installer, the updating app crashes. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a workaround? FYI 10.2.8 G3 350.

P.S. console's last entry is "vm_allocate failed"
