I transferred my wife's imac 450 data to my new 15" PB yesterday and figured I could easily just transfer the mail file from her library folder and the prefs as well and use it in place. this theory of course worked well for the 5 gig of pictures but broke the mail program when she is the user. its ok when me, the admin is. Mail does not even launch when she is the user. I repaired the prefs then even upgraded to 10.3.5. No go. I tried to reconstitute the mail library file. no go.
Any useful ideas?? Wish that transfer script was available for these situations. Then I would not have tried to be clever.
Thank you in advance
George

Just a shot in the dark ...

You could try trashing the Mail folder in your wifes account before moving the other one over ... then repair permissions ...
