My iBook is a 600 MHz Mode, with 640 MB of RAM running the very latest up to date MacOS. Now this iBook used to surf the web great. But more and more lately, it runs really slow. Like typing into this thread post text box is very slow and jump. But mostly its the beach balls. I get them all the time now, all over the place, and for no reason. I'm not the only one who has an older iBook and has had Safari start doing this more and more. My G5 has no problems at all. What gives, any ideas?

Quit Safari and reopen it. Repair permissions. Delete your icon cache (Safari Icon Manager is good for this). If you have autofill on for Other forms, go in and delete the older ones (if this is large, it could seriously slow Safari down). Trash your cache (or deactivate it). And worse comes to worse, trash your plist.

Got ~/Library/Safari/Icons folder

1. Empty it.

2. Make the Icons folder Read-Only
