I have no idea what is the name for the red star notification when you receive new email within Mail.app.

Question is following:
- When receiving new email in my In-box, Mail shows a red star in the icon in the Dock, like iChat etc.
- When receiving new email which the is rerouted to a sub-mail-box, I do get a notification as preset (sound in my case) but there isn't this red star.
So if I am not around, I do not hear the sound, and so I have to bring Mail to the front in order to see if there is new email.

Is there a way to get this fixed?
Thanks.

There's also Mail Count X: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13540

and

The Unread: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13683

They each allow you to place the number of unread mail messages in the menu bar. I prefer The Unread and it uses less CPU cycles and memory. The developer has also been very responsive to my requests.

Enjoy!

I prefer the red star in the Dock icon, instead of another icon in my full menu bar. But thanks anyway for these alternatives!
