My PowerBook G4 (1GHz, Superdrive, last of the Tis) came with a software bundle including some Omni apps, Snapz Pro, etc.
I just upgraded to Panther and would still like to use these apps if possible. Got Pacifist but can't find any of them in the packages on the Install/Restore DVD. I seem to remember iDVD being installable through a Software Restore app in the Utility folder though. You'd click it and have a choice of additional apps not included on the Install/Restore disc. I'm guessing this is where those apps are, but I have no idea where to look for this. Even doing a find within Pacifist once the package is open yields nothing.
I found quite a few KB articles over at Apple, but none that were ultimately helpful. I'm wondering if I'll have to try to extract/copy these apps over from the clone of my 10.2.8 system that I made. But I think this'll be messier than it's worth.
I know I could at least download a trial version of OmniOutliner--but it's crippled and I'd like to have the ones I (think I) have fair use rights to.
Thanks

OK, I found a solution to this. Just in case anybody else needs to do the same, here it is:
I emailed the nice folks over at OmniGroup and they sent over the following instructions (these are specifc to my Erase and Install installation of Panther btw):
1. Log into your computer using an account with administrator privileges.
2. Place the software restore CD (disc 1) or DVD into your disc drive.
3. Once the disc mounts in Finder, open a new Finder window or use an existing one and put it into column view by choosing from the 'View' menu 'As Columns'.
4. Now navigate to 'Computer' by using the 'Go' menu in Finder and choosing 'Computer'. Select the Software Restore CD or DVD from the list of mounted disks in the Finder window by clicking once on its icon. Do not select any of the items inside the disk, however.
5. Choose 'Go to Folder...' from the 'Go' menu in Finder
6. Type '.images' (without the quotes) and then click the 'Go' button.
7. Finder should then display for you the contents of an invisible folder on the disc called '.images' and inside this folder you should find a disk image (.dmg) file called 'OmniOutliner.dmg' and another called 'OmniGraffle.dmg'.
8. Mount one or both disk images by double-clicking the icon(s)
9. Once the disk images have mounted, you should see corresponding disk(s) in Finder under 'Computer' with the application(s) inside
10. Run the application on the disk image you just mounted by double-clicking the icon. As long as you are running as an administrator, this will cause the application to re-install it's license file in </Library/Application Support/Omni Group/Software Licenses/>. Perform this step for each application you would like the license restored for.
11. Once you have run the application you can quit it and eject the mounted volume it came on. Once all mounted volumes from the software restore CD or DVD have been ejected, you can safely eject the software restore disc as well.
------------
I could then go ahead and download copies of the apps from the website. Hooray!

Or, you can use D.B. Cooper, available here, instead. Much easier to use.

Actually, there should be a software restore package that installs the Software Restore application, which will let you select which bit you want to restore (apps, classic, OS, etc).

Yes, but it's an all or none type thing...
