I hope I do not get blasted for this question, but does the MacOS recognize .exe files?
Am I ready for the Mac? I want a 60G iPod!!!!!

Well, it will see them. But I don't think that's your question.

Generally ".exe" means the file is a Windows (or DOS) executable file. These files will not work on the mac because the entire platform is different (from the OS API hooks down to the machine language are all completely different).

It is possible to run windows apps in emulation software, such as VirtualPC. They'll run with a major performance hit, but they'll run.

Or if it is a self extracting .exe you can open it in stuffit

Let's just clarify that as a StuffIt Self-Extracting .exe - I doubt it works for the InstallShield stuff, and probably not even for self-extracting WinZip archives, although I could be wrong.

No it works.
It works for WinZip self extracting.
I don't know about Install(what ever)
