Hi,

Safari has started insisting on attempting to open StuffIt .sit files in the Script Editor program. It used to just download them to my download folder.

Okay I know I can Ctrl Click the link and download, but many links go to a HTML page which then downloads a .sit file.

I've gone to the File Information panel and made sure that .sit files are associated with StuffIt Expander, but Safari just ignores the setting.

So how do I force Safari to go back and just download the files?

Thanks,

Mike.

So does Safari download them and then open the Script Editor, or does it not download them at all?

If it's the former, you can change the preference in Safari to not open files after download. If it's the latter, try changing the association of .sit files with this: http://www.monkeyfood.com/software/MoreInternet/
