Some time ago, I installed a trial version of a network spyalert program. It has since expired, and I keep getting this annoying popup everytime I start my Powerbook:
"NETWORK SPYALERT PROTECTION EXPIRED!
The installed demonstration version of Internet Cleanup has expired.
To purchase the demoe, run the Internet Cleanup application for details."
For the life of me, I cannot find the file I need to remove in order to stop getting this message every time I boot.
Sugegstions are welcome! ...please!

Have you tried running a search for the name (or parts of the name) of the program and then deleting all those files associated with it?
Seems to work.

Usually the installer of this kind of applications has an uninstall option. So run the installer again and look for a popup menu with install options that included uninstall. Re-download the demo if you don't have the installer any more.

the two posters have really covered your options so far....
You can also email the company from whom you downloaded the software and ask where the files it installed are (sometimes this is included in the documentation)

Check your User in the System Prefrences and see if they have any Start Up items that look fishy. Then check /Library/StartupItems and if all else fails /System/Library/StartupItems.

What do you mean by anyone else?
The installer of that app has an uninstaller option. Why don't you want to use it?
