I'm excited about this too, as Unison got really slow with big newsgroups. I'll have to snag it when I get home from work.

Agreed. I was glad to see they addressed the large newsgroup issue. And even with those flaws, it's still by far the best reader I've used.

I'd probably like this app too if I had access to any of the good stuff on usenet - but my university has closed all access to the binary groups..

That's exactly why I signed up for Panic's usenet service - best $12 I spend every month

Very welcome update, Unison is much better now.
I guess there might be a point upgrade soon, though: my powerbook came almost to standstill twice, for about 3 minutes each time, while browsing a 6000-entries usenet group, with the harddisk trashing like crazy, saving whatever into a database in the unison cache folder.

Uhh, are we supposed to use "The Force" to guess what that might be?

Hehehe. That's the funniest damn thing I've read in weeks...probably because it's so in-context.

There's a silly crash I've noted... if you use the drawer to show your favorites and switch between newsgroups while a message is selected, Unison crashes. Pretty annoying.

I contacted them though and they're aware of the issue, and they'll be releasing a fixed version in the next day or so.
