Aloha,

I recenlty cloned my main HD (Macintosh HD) to a backup FireWire HD (Sea Mac HD) using Carbon Copy Cloner. I've been testing the clone out and found the following oddity with Safari.

In Safari (booted onto the clone) I downloaded MacJournal from MacUpdate. Safari didn't put the dmg on the Sea Mac HD desktop (the one I was booted into), but instead put it on the Macintosh HD desktop. I checked Safari's preferences and changed the path to the Sea Mac HD. The download went fine.

But if I quit Safari and log out of my ISP, and then return again, the Safari preference reverts back to sending downloads to the main HD (Macintosh HD). It doesn't seem to retain the changed preferences, I have to change it each time I launch Safari.

It's not a big deal because I don't normally boot into the backup (Sea Mac HD) hard drive. But it bothers me nonetheless! Camino had no such problem, it automatically knows which HD I'm booted into and downloads to the proper desktop.

Any Safari suggestions to fix this?

Thanks.
