I'm trying to mod my xbox and put in a larger hard drive. So far everything has been a success except I can't get the ftp to find files on the xbox.

I'm using RBrowserLite. I'm using a cable modem and an Airport Extreme base station with the xbox connected directly to the base station and my laptop connecting to the network wirelessly.

When I connect to the xBox it establishes the connection but says "no folder list data has been returned". I have passive ftp enabled. Since it appears to be connecting I assume my IP info is ok. I've tried turning off the firewall but that didn't help. The transcript file shows:

<--[6]TYPE A

-->[6](23)
200 Type set to ASCII.

<--[6]PASV

-->[6](29)
502 pasv is not implemented.

DATACONN FAILED, ERROR LOADING DIRnull)

Any idea what should be my next step? What other information do you need from me?

Thanks!

Just as the transcript says, you need to turn off passive mode on the ftp clinet. ftp is an odd protocol (comes from being one of the first... things weren't as thought through at that point), and has both active (the client controls things) and passive (the server controls things) modes.

Thanks!! This is my first time trying to use an ftp and when I read the transcript I thought it was telling Passive ftp wasn't on, and it needed to be.

Thanks again!!
