We just upgraded our cell phones to Samsung's SGH-x426. Samsung has Windows sync software available on their site for free download, but this doesn't do anything for an iBook.
I'd like to find iSync compatible software for these phones, or at least software that can independently sync Address Book entries with the phone. Does anyone know of anything like this?
Thanks!

sorry - I think you're SOL - definitely on the iSync front - but there may be some X11 type app that'll do what you want somewhere out there (though who knows if it'll know how to use a Mac's bluetooth or USB

I kinda thought that was the case, since my searches didn't turn up anything. I guess I'll either have to use a PC to backup and transfer phone numbers and so on, or figure out how the phone works inside and write my own driver.
Thanks!

Yeah I think you'd be out of luck. First thing I look at when getting a new phone is always Mac-compatibility....

sad but true. the upside is that the cool phones (imo), namely the series 60 symbian phones and the SE P800 and P900 are supported by isync.

Do you own a Palm or PocketPC?
If you do you can 1st sync your phone to the Palm or PocketPC and then sync that to your iBook. It's a little bit more of a hassle but it will get the job done. Remember, you'll need a 3rd party syncing software (like the Missing Sync or PocketMac) to sync a Sony Palm or PocketPC to your iBook. Just a thought.

Yeah, that's the conclusion I came to. Samsung's software for the phone (free on their site) runs on Windows machines, so we'll do the sync in a sort of three-way process: sync the phone to the Win machine, sync a Palm to the Win machine, then sync the Palm to the ibook. Actually, since we keep our Palms up to date, we can probably just do the first two steps, and the third will happen through habit.
Thanks for the thoughts...
