I have 2 questions. 1) Does this use/non-use of multiple processors extend to an emulator like VPC7? 2) Does VPC7 itself take advantage of dual processors?

If SMP support is included, I would expect it to be available regardless of the version of Windows you're running. It should be a VPC thing; not an XP Home/Pro thing.
I beleve that VPC7 does have multi processor support on the Mac end, but in the XP System Properties window it only shows 1 CPU, so any version of XP (home or pro, does MS sell VPC with XP home?) will work.

VPC 7 itself will take advantage of the two processors in a dual machine, but the emulated PC will still only show one, because the system being emulated is a one processor system.
