I got SideTrack a little while ago and it seems like a great program. It was working fine for about a week or two but over the past few days whenever I move the mouse it jumps around the screen. It varies on how bad it does it, but recently its gotten so bad that when nothing is on the trackpad, the mouse still moves in one direction a little bit. Anyone know how to completley uninstall this? Or do I just click "Remove SideTrack from preference panel." A quick response would be greatly appreciated because its been so bad today I can barley use the computer (thats why I've posted this).
Thanks in advance,
Brandon

P.S. I've restarted my comp and recalibrated SideTrack.

Re-download the disk image (assuming you don't still have it) and run the uninstaller script that comes with. That's the easiest way.

Ok I just uninstalled and restared and the problem still exists. As I said its off and on so it was working ok for about 2 minutes but now its not again. The worse thing is if I take it in for service, it might not even do it and I'd have driven 2 hours for nothing. Any other suggestions?

Try cleaning your trackpad (IIRC, you're supposed to do this with a very very ever-so-slightly not-very-damp-at-all, pretty-much-nearly-dry soft cloth, but I would advise double-checking to find the best method). Reason I say this is because, to me, what you described sounds an awful lot like what happens when normal skin grease builds up on a trackpad.

Zap your PRAM. I had the same problem, realized it wasn't sidetrack when I booted into Tiger. Zapping the PRAM fixed the problem.

I have no idea what it means to zap the PRAM or how to do it. If you have instructions or something please let me know.

And make sure the startup chime chimes about 4 times. Of course everyone I talk to says something different.
